about

So I have finally finished this batch of 10 songs that I've been working on for the past two years (some of which were actually written even before that). In trying to sequence the tracks I realized that they didn't really work together on one album because of the diversity of the songs. For this reason I have decided to split the album up into 2 EP's.

'Under Open Skies' was the first and features the more catchy, upbeat and poppy tunes.
'Forward Momentum' is the second and contains some of the more experimental, edgy & interesting songs. In the end however, the two can be thought of as Side A & B of an old-school LP or cassette tape.

I have been inspired to write music for as long as I can remember because of the feelings that music is able to evoke. It's sometimes hard to pinpoint exactly where that inspiration comes from and at times if feels like a song emerges from some unknown place – from either deep within the subconscious or perhaps even beyond the self. Looking back at the finished product I can see where some of it did come from... but rather than spell it out I would rather have you as the listener form your own opinion and inject your own meaning into these songs. At the end of the day I think that music (and art in general) is at its most powerful when we can each relate some of it to our own lives.

Thanks for listening,
Danny.

Track Name: prelude
forget the hopeless ones
those that tell you it's too late
lead the life you need to live
and know that you can, you can make it yeah

go back, don't go back
go back, don't go back, don't go back

well i can tell that you don't care,
care that you've missed out on life
look at you between the lines
i know that you're still real

go back, don't go back

and on the scale of things to come
we can't afford to watch it all go by
look at this moment, this moment in time

go back, don't go back
go back, don't go back, don't go back
Track Name: seasons
I'm coming home
it's been far too long
been all alone
far too long

well you didn't know me
and i didn't know anything

I follow the seasons, cause they bring me back to you
I follow the seasons, cause they bring me back to you

can you believe
we almost didn't make it
cause it feels like
we've had one too many winters
i was searching and so were you

you were in summer
i was in fall
we were on the same path

I follow the seasons, cause they bring me back to you
I follow the seasons, cause they brought me you
I follow the seasons, cause they brought me to you
before i knew you
Track Name: out of here
verse 1:
i've been listening and searching for silence
something's shifted and i need an answer to my prayers
and i was wondering just where our lives are going
i'm drifting out of here but I've been given a path so clear
clear but not easy. oh yes i'm asking, just asking for a leap of faith

chorus 1:
lets but a ticket and get on a plane
fly to berlin or to new york babe
i know it sounds somewhat cliche
but i don't care let's get out of there baby
what did you wanna be when you were a kid?

verse 2:
well I'm turning another page tonight
and i see you're not far behind
were too young too feel this old
and theres not a lot that holds us back
i'm searching for a solution
we can be free we can take it all, take the prize

chorus 2:
let's buy a ticket get on that plane
fly to rome or to london babe
i know it sounds oh so naive
and not to mention reckless
oh but i don't care let get out of here
baby, baby, i need to get out of here
we need to get out of here
Track Name: don't go back
well i think i let my ego get in the way
no matter how far its never to late
lead the life you need to live
know that you can make it

love it or hate it its real
love it or hate it

go back don't go back
don't goooo back
again

i can tell you don't care
care that you've missed out on life
look at you between the lines
i know you're still real
on the scale of things to come
can you afford to watch it all go by

love it or hate it its real
love it or hate it

go back don't go back
don't goooo back
again
Track Name: momentum
<capo on 3 or 4 or wherever>
// A- / C / G / G //

verse 1:
i can honestly not tell you
how long its been and how many times
i had to let go of this crazy idea of how i had somehow
somewhere arrived in this life of mine

cause no matter how great you feel
and how many things are going right for you
you can never say you've arrived
what would be the point of that?
the point of a life that's got nowhere to go

pre-chorus:
never been in a place where felt better than i feel now
but somehow, somehow i know there's a lot more i've got to know

chorus:
i've lost my momentum and I've lost my steam
too many ups and downs you see
and i know that somehow it might seem
that it's just another turn of the merry-go-round
and i've got, yes i've got a dream
and i'm ready for another round

verse 2:
i'm gonna take it as it comes
don't worry, don't worry
i will know it's getting better all the time
but it comes in waves, it comes in waves
and that's why sometimes you might be fooled
into thinking that, into thinking that it's all just pain etc.

chorus:
i'm gaining momentum and i'm gaining speed
no more ups and downs just stability
and i know that somehow it may seem that it's just a waste of time
but i have, yes i've got a dream
i have a dream for you and me
